Eastern Ratsnake

Range/Habitat: They are found in the United States east of the Appalachian mountains.
Diet: The diet of this snake includes rodents, lizards, frogs, and birds/eggs.
Expected Lifespan: Ratsnakes can live over 20 years
Fun Facts:
- The longest recorded rat snakes total length was 90 inches!
- We find them curled up in the chicken coop at the farm, they like to steal our eggs!
- They are a fairly docile snake and are unlikely to bite if kept calm and safe.
- In the wild these snakes are mostly black with some cream coloring, our rat snake Winston is a domestically bred snake with a different color variation (yellow white-sided eastern rat snake).
